Sponsored by the Advocates for the AOA (AAOA)

The Advocates for the AOA (AAOA) believes that the future of Osteopathic Medicine begins with its students and have sponsored (5) $500.00 scholarships for Osteopathic students who have registered with National SOMA during the 2020-2021 Academic year and who show potential leadership skills within the field of osteopathic medicine.

I am honored to be a recipient of the SOMA New Member Scholarship. Thank you for your generous donation and support. I am the first member of my family to attend medical school and your contribution has allowed me to continue pursuing my passion for science and medicine.
I am currently a first year medical student at Touro University Nevada and hope to pursue a career in medical oncology/hematology in the future to support the physician shortage especially in underserved areas. Thank you again for your thoughtful and generous gift.

I would like to sincerely thank you for your generosity in awarding me the SOMA New Member Scholarship. I am extremely honored and humbled to be selected as a recipient of the award this year. I am currently a first-year medical student at Ohio University Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine in Athens, Ohio. While COVID-19 has certainly impacted our lives in one way or another, it is a truly an honor to be here working towards my ultimate goal. There is no better time to be a medical student, as COVID-19 has shown us just how essential our healthcare heroes are to society. I am so grateful for your support and investment in my future, as I want to do the same for others in my daily life as a future physician.

I want to express my sincerest gratitude for this generous donation. I am truly honored to be a  recipient of the Fall 2020 New Member Scholarship, which will contribute to my education at  Touro University California College of Osteopathic Medicine (TUCOM-CA). We find ourselves at  a pivotal moment in medicine, and society more broadly. As the Vice President of the soon to  be reactivated SOMA chapter at TUCOM-CA, I will work to empower student voices to continue  to advocate for necessary change in our healthcare system. This scholarship will help me work  toward these goals. I am grateful and honored to have received it.

I really appreciate this opportunity. I am grateful and honored to be selected. This fund will definitely help with this expensive medical school journey. This is my first scholarship grant, and I deeply appreciate it. Thank you!

I would like to express my sincere thanks for your generous donation to the New Member  Scholarship. This scholarship will help to support my journey to becoming an osteopathic  physician and allow me to focus on both my studies and serving my community.
I am currently a first-year medical student at the Michigan State University College of  Osteopathic Medicine, and I cannot wait to see what the future brings me as a member of  SOMA. In addition to my studies, I believe that a huge part of learning to be an osteopathic  physician takes place outside of the classroom. With your financial support, I will have more  time to take part in organizations such as Meals on Wheels, join interest clubs on campus, and  pursue other opportunities.
Your investment in my future will make achieving my goals much easier. Again, thank  you so much for your generosity and support.
