SOMA's RISING LEADER SCHOLARSHIP

Nearly 60% of practicing osteopathic physicians are under the age of 45 requiring younger physicians to develop leadership and networking skills necessary to become more involved in the profession earlier than ever.  A part of the mission of the SOMA Foundation is to provide financial support for programs and benefits that will contribute to the education of osteopathic medical students. To encourage students to take an active role in leadership both during their medical education and future career, SOMA Foundation is offering a $930 scholarship to a student that demonstrates a commitment to leadership and professional involvement.  One SOMA member will receive a scholarship of $930 donated by the Advocates for the American Osteopathic Association (AAOA).  The recipient is required to attend the 2015 OMED in Orlando, Florida.  The scholarship certificate will be distributed during SOMA’s fall convention at the Foundation awards reception on October 18th from 4-6pm.  The grant is in honor of Laura C. Cifala passed member and President of the AAOA.
